Critical illness insurance

Critical illness cover is designed to help protect you, and potentially your family, from the financial hardship that a serious illness can cause, during the term of your cover.

More commonly, critical illness cover is used to repay mortgage or other loan commitments in the event you (as the policy holder) are diagnosed with a specified critical illness or need to undergo a specified operation / procedure.

This is where critical illness insurance benefits you. Many insurers also offer children’s Critical Illness cover at no extra charge, though the pay-out is usually limited to between £10,000 and £25,000.
